Serrated fin tubes are specialized heat transfer components widely used in HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) to enhance thermal efficiency, particularly in convection section-Economizer, where gas-side heat transfer is the controlling factor. The serrations—small, segmented notches cut into the fin edge—disrupt the boundary layer of the flue gas, creating turbulence that increases the convective heat transfer coefficient by roughly 10%–25% compared to solid fins.

A. Economizers: High performance serrated fin tubes are frequently used to maximize energy recovery from the flue gas.

The 13Cr pins add some cost, but for sour service in furnaces, it's worth it. Already seeing longer run times between turnarounds compared to before.

With high firebox temps and some sour gas in the mix, regular carbon tubes don't last. These have been solid.

Good oxidation resistance, matches well with the T9. No scaling or thinning noticed.
