Product Description

ASME SA106 Gr.B Carbon Steel Studded Tubes, Fired Heater Coil, Fired Furnace Tube

ASTM A106/ ASME SA106 Gr.B Carbon Steel Studded Fin Tube refers to a type of Heat Exchanger Tube. The tube has studs attached to its outer surface, and these studs are typically made of a different material than the tube itself. Studded fin tubes are used to improve the efficiency of heat transfer in applications such as boilers, heat exchangers and air coolers. Studded fin tubes have studs welded on the base metal tube. The studs are arranged in a regular formation throughout the surface of the base tube. Studded fin tubes are usually applied in boilers and oil refineries because they increase the surface area for higher heat transfer. Studded Fin Tubes are mostly used in boilers and furnaces. Mostly in a corrosive environment. Studded fin tubes are widely used for heat transfer in the petrochemical industry for furnaces and boilers in which the surface is exposed to a high corrosive environment and in which dirty gas streams require frequent or aggressive cleaning.

ASTM A106 / ASME SA106 Grade B is a standard specification for seamless carbon steel tube for high-temperature service. Studded fin tubes are typically used in heat exchangers and boilers for enhanced heat transfer efficiency. The studs on the base tubes increase the surface area, allowing for better heat exchange between the fluid inside the tube and the surrounding environment.

With our humidity and year-round high temps, corrosion resistance and heat transfer are always a concern. These tubes have been performing nicely.

The 13Cr pins add some cost, but for sour service in furnaces, it's worth it. Already seeing longer run times between turnarounds compared to before.

Good oxidation resistance, matches well with the T9. No scaling or thinning noticed.
