Product Description

Embedded G Finned Tubes ASTM A106 Gr.B Pipes With Cu T2 Fins For Condensers

ASTM A106 specifies the requirements for seamless carbon steel pipe intended for high-temperature service. Widely used in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation—primarily for transporting high-temperature, high-pressure fluids—it is one of the most widely utilized and indispensable standards for seamless steel pipe globally.

A106 Grade B steel offers an optimal balance of strength, ductility, and weldability, making it the preferred material for most high-temperature, high-pressure applications.

Base pipe: ASTM A106 Gr. B seamless carbon steel.Resistant to high pressure and moderate-to-high temperatures (≤480°C); exhibits excellent thermal fatigue resistance and withstands internal media such as steam, oil, and hydrocarbons; complies with API 661 standards for refinery air coolers.

Fin Material: Cu T2.Features excellent thermal conductivity among industrial metals; utilizes an embedded G-type groove locking structure that minimizes contact thermal resistance; offers significantly higher heat transfer efficiency than aluminum fins in low-to-medium air-side cooling applications.

The copper fin strip is locked into a helically machined groove and secured by backfilling with the tube's base metal; this creates a tight mechanical bond that prevents the fin from loosening under thermal cycling or vibration, ensures stable long-term heat transfer performance, and withstands operating temperatures up to 400°C.

Suitable Working Conditions

Tube side medium: High-pressure steam, hot oil, hydrocarbon, process water, ammonia (A106 Gr.B bears internal pressure up to 16MPa+).

Shell/air side: Dry air, clean flue gas, non-corrosive industrial gas (Cu T2 copper fins not recommended for acid/sulfur-containing flue gas).

Operating temperature range: Tube medium ≤450℃; air side fin surface ≤380℃ (limited by copper fin oxidation).

Key Application

1.Power Generation Industry (Largest Application Scenario)

Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC) for steam turbine

HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) low-temperature convection section

Boiler Air Preheater (APH)

2.Petrochemical & Refinery Industry (API 661 Standard Air Coolers)

Air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHE)

Condensers

3.Metallurgy & Heavy Industry

Blast furnace / converter flue gas waste heat recovery radiators

Non-ferrous smelting tail gas heat recovery condensers

Waste heat boiler evaporation & cooling sections

The finning is tight — you can tell they used a proper cold-forming process because the fins don't move at all when you try to wiggle them. We've had issues before with other suppliers where the fins would come loose after a few thermal cycles, but these ones feel solid.
