Product Overview

Embedded finned tubes with a base tube material of ASME SB163 N04400 (Monel 400) are designed for seawater cooling heat exchangers where corrosion resistance, long-term service performance, and reliable heat transfer are critical requirements.

The embedded fin structure is manufactured by machining grooves on the outer surface of the base tube and inserting metallic fins into the grooves, creating a mechanical bond between the tube and fins. This structure improves heat transfer efficiency while maintaining the excellent seawater corrosion resistance of N04400 alloy.

With strong resistance to seawater, salt solutions, and many chemical environments, Monel 400 embedded finned tubes are widely used in marine cooling systems, offshore equipment, and industrial heat exchange applications.

The finning is tight — you can tell they used a proper cold-forming process because the fins don't move at all when you try to wiggle them. We've had issues before with other suppliers where the fins would come loose after a few thermal cycles, but these ones feel solid.
