ASME SA213 / ASTM A213 T11 / 13CrMo4-5 Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tube

 

 

ASTM A213 Grade T11 (EN 13CrMo4-5) is a seamless, ferritic 1.25Cr-0.5Mo alloy steel tube specifically manufactured for high-temperature boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger service. It offers improved creep strength and oxidation resistance over carbon steel up to ~570°C, making it the standard choice for subcritical power plant superheaters, reheaters, feedwater heaters, and HRSG evaporators. The EN equivalent 13CrMo4-5 (1.7335) is widely used in European boilers and pressure vessels.

Heat Treatment (Required by ASTM A213)

All T11 tubes must be furnished in one of the following heat-treated conditions:

  • Fully annealed – Heat to 855–900°C (1570–1650°F), cool in furnace.

  • Isothermal annealed – Heat to 845–900°C (1550–1650°F), cool to 705–745°C (1300–1375°F), hold, then air cool.

  • Normalized and tempered – Normalize at 900–960°C (1650–1760°F), then temper at 620–760°C (1150–1400°F).

It's hot and humid here, and our old wrap-on tubes used to rust like crazy. Switched to your extruded ones—the aluminum fin covers the steel pipe perfectly, so corrosion shouldn't be an issue.
