Its controlled chemistry and processing make it the material of choice where long-term creep resistance is paramount. Compared to 304/304L, TP304H prioritizes elevated temperature performance over maximum corrosion resistance or weldability, making material selection crucial. Mandatory solution annealing and rigorous non-destructive testing (eddy current, ultrasonic) under the ASTM A213 standard guarantee its reliability in demanding thermal cycles.
