Grade 304, also known as 18/8 stainless steel, is the most widely used and versatile austenitic stainless steel. It contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance, high formability, and good mechanical properties. Grade 304 is used in a variety of applications across different industries due to its balance of strength, durability, and resistance to oxidation and corrosion.

The 13Cr pins add some cost, but for sour service in furnaces, it's worth it. Already seeing longer run times between turnarounds compared to before.
