ASTM A269 TP321 High Frequency Welded Finned Tubes for Waste‑Heat Recovery Field
ASTM A269 TP321 (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel tubing widely used as the base tube for high-frequency welded finned tubes. The ASTM A269 standard applies to seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubes intended for use in corrosion-resistant and high-temperature heat exchange applications. The addition of titanium stabilizes carbon, inhibiting the precipitation of chromium carbide during welding and high-temperature service, thereby effectively preventing intergranular sensitization.
The TP321 base tube is the pressure-bearing core component of high-frequency welded finned tubes; the fins are metallurgically bonded to the outer surface of the base tube via high-frequency resistance welding, while the process fluid flows through the interior of the base tube.

Advantages ASTM A269 TP321 Solid Finned Tubes
Heat recovery equipment typically operates under complex conditions: high-temperature flue gas, frequent thermal cycles, temperature fluctuations, trace corrosive components in exhaust gas, and equipment start-up and shutdown stresses. ASTM A269 TP321 high-frequency welded finned tubes combine the material advantages of titanium-stabilized stainless steel with the structural benefits of high-frequency welding finning technology, demonstrating outstanding performance in heat recovery applications.
| Superior Resistance to Intergranular Sensitization for High‑Temperature Flue Gas Environment: TP321 contains titanium as stabilizing element, which binds carbon to form titanium carbide and prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries.During high‑frequency fin welding and long‑term service at 427 °C‑816 °C, the base tube avoids intergranular corrosion risk. |
| Excellent Thermal Fatigue Performance for Cyclic Operating Conditions: TP321 contains titanium as stabilizing element, which binds carbon to form titanium carbide and prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries.During high‑frequency fin welding and long‑term service at 427 °C‑816 °C, the base tube avoids intergranular corrosion risk. |
High‑frequency resistance welding realizes solid‑state metallurgical fusion between fin strip and ASTM A269 TP321 base tube, zero gap at joint interface.Very low thermal contact resistance, high heat transfer efficiency and stable heat exchange performance under long‑term high‑temperature operation, no thermal efficiency attenuation caused by interface loosening. |
