ASTM A213 / ASME SA213 Grade T12 is a standard specification for seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy-steel boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes. Grade T12 is a low-alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum. It is widely recognized for its creep strength, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. The designation 13CrMo44 is its German/DIN equivalent (old standard, now superseded by 1.7335 / 13CrMo4-5 in EN 10028-2), which is frequently used interchangeably in global procurement. Choose T12 when your design metal temperature is between 425°C and 540°C, your fuel is standard coal/gas (not heavy sulfur crude), and you require a highly weldable, fatigue-resistant tube that will not break the budget.
