ASTM A335 P22 HFW Serrated Finned Tube with AS Fins For HRSG and Economizers

 

It is a high-efficiency heat transfer component for high-temperature/pressure industrial service, consisting of a ASTM A335 P22 seamless alloy steel base tube with alloy steel serrated fins helically wound and bonded via HFW (High-Frequency Welded). It excels in heat transfer, fouling resistance, and structural integrity, widely used in power, petrochemical, and refinery heat exchangers.

2. Fin Type: HFW Serrated Fins

  • Serrated: Helically wound fins with notched edges; disrupts boundary layer, boosts turbulence, increases heat transfer area (3–10× vs. bare tube), and reduces fouling.

 Fin Material: Alloy Steel (Typically 11-13% Chromium Steel)

  • The chromium-rich alloy steel fins provide outstanding resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and sulfidation from hot flue gases. This protects the fin integrity in aggressive environments like refinery furnaces.

The component functions as a "hybrid" heat transfer device. The P22 alloy steel base tube is a pressure-containing part, designed to safely carry high-temperature fluids like steam or process oils. The serrated alloy steel fins are the heat exchange surface. Hot flue gases flowing over the outside of the tubes transfer their heat to the fins, which then efficiently conduct it to the tube and the fluid inside.

  • Heat Transfer Efficiency: Serrations enhance turbulence and surface area; outperforms solid fins in gas–liquid/gas–gas heat transfer.
