ASTM B163 NO4400 (commonly known as Monel 400) is a nickel-copper alloy renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive environments, including seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and alkaline solutions. It offers high strength and toughness across a broad temperature spectrum, from cryogenic to elevated temperatures.

The ASTM B163 NO4400 Seamless Nickel Alloy Embedded G Type Fin Tube with Aluminum Fin is a high-performance, bimetallic heat transfer component. It features a seamless Monel 400 base tube into which a strip of aluminum is mechanically embedded and cold-rolled to form an integral "G" type fin. This unique construction combines the superior corrosion resistance of the nickel alloy base tube with the excellent thermal conductivity and lightweight properties of aluminum fins.

With high firebox temps and some sour gas in the mix, regular carbon tubes don't last. These have been solid.

As an engineer in Siberia, I tested these fin tubes in extreme cold (-30°C). The ASTM A213 T11 steel performed well with no thermal cracks, and cooling efficiency met expectations (88%). That said, the Russian-language documentation had translation errors in technical terms, causing minor confusion during installation.
