ASTM B111 C12200 is a seamless, deoxidized high‑phosphorus (DHP) copper tube, specified for heat exchanger service due to its excellent thermal conductivity, ductility, and weldability, but limited to fresh water or mildly corrosive fluids.

 

 

Why Use 99.9% Cu DHP Tube in Heat Exchangers?

  • High heat transfer efficiency → Smaller surface area possible, reducing equipment size.

  • Excellent ductility → Easily expanded, flared, or bent into U-bends without cracking.

  • Good weldability & brazing → DHP grade is preferred for welded tube-to-tubesheet joints.

  • Resists dezincification (unlike brass) → No selective leaching of zinc.

  • Forms protective patina → Long service life in clean water or atmospheric conditions.

With our humidity and year-round high temps, corrosion resistance and heat transfer are always a concern. These tubes have been performing nicely.

The finning is tight — you can tell they used a proper cold-forming process because the fins don't move at all when you try to wiggle them. We've had issues before with other suppliers where the fins would come loose after a few thermal cycles, but these ones feel solid.

Been running about 6 months now in cyclic service. No leaks, no failures. Heat transfer still where it should be.
