Our Serrated Fin Tubes are engineered for superior heat-transfer efficiency in demanding thermal systems, especially Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), waste heat boilers, and industrial heat exchangers. Manufactured with a high-strength ASME SA192 carbon-moly steel base tube and carbon-steel serrated fins, these tubes are designed to operate under high temperatures, high pressures, and aggressive thermal cycling.
The serrated fin design increases turbulence and disrupts boundary-layer formation, resulting in significantly improved heat-transfer performance compared to solid fin configurations.
ASME SA192 (High-pressure carbon-manganese steel)
Standard Compliance: ASTM/ASME
Typical Applications: Boilers, economizers, HRSG evaporators/superheaters
Key Properties:
High tensile strength
Excellent resistance to high-temperature pressure stress
Suitable for elevated-temperature service environments
Outer Diameter (OD): 19 mm – 76 mm (customizable)
Wall Thickness: 2 mm – 8 mm (according to ASME SA192 requirements)
Tube Length: Up to 18 meters (longer lengths available upon request)
Carbon Steel (CS)
Ideal for general heat-transfer applications with moderate corrosion requirements
Provides strong mechanical bonding and structural durability
Fin Type: Serrated (segmented) fin
Fin Height: 6–18 mm (customized)
Fin Thickness: 0.6–1.5 mm
Fin Pitch: 8–12 fins per inch (FPI)
Fin Bonding Method:
High-frequency resistance welding
Ensures full metallurgical bond for optimal heat transfer
The serrated fin design cuts the fins into smaller segments, increasing turbulence and maximizing heat transfer on the gas side. This improves thermal efficiency, especially in low-to-moderate gas velocity operations.
ASME SA192 provides excellent high-temperature tensile and creep resistance.
Carbon-steel fins offer strong mechanical rigidity and long service life.
High-frequency welded serrated fins ensure:
Full contact between fin and tube
Low thermal resistance
Long-term reliability under vibration and thermal cycling
Carbon-steel fins combined with SA192 tubes provide an economical solution without compromising thermal performance.
Our serrated fin tubes are widely used in:
HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) systems
Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU)
Utility and industrial boilers
Economizers & superheaters
Air preheaters (APH)
Petrochemical and refinery heat exchangers
The enhanced turbulence generated by the serrated fins makes them particularly suitable for gas-side heat-transfer applications involving flue gas, exhaust gas, or process gas streams.
Every serrated fin tube is manufactured according to international standards:
ASME SA192 dimensional and mechanical requirements
AWS welding quality standards
NDT testing (Eddy Current, Hydrostatic, or Ultrasonic testing on request)
Visual inspection and fin-bond integrity testing
We can fabricate serrated fin tubes according to customer drawings or project specifications:
Tube diameter, wall thickness, and length
Fin height, thickness, and pitch
Welding method & surface treatment
Coating (aluminum spray, galvanizing, or anti-corrosion coatings)
