Product Overview

The ASTM A213 T22 Alloy Steel Serrated Fin Tube is designed for high-temperature applications in furnace convection sections and other thermal systems. The base tube is made from T22 alloy steel, and the serrated carbon steel fins are welded onto the tube surface. The serrated fin design increases the surface area, promoting efficient heat transfer and making it suitable for applications where high thermal efficiency and durability are required.

Advantages
  • Enhanced Heat Transfer
The serrated fin design maximizes the heat transfer rate by breaking the boundary layer and promoting better turbulence in the gas flow, which improves the thermal efficiency of the furnace.
  • High-Temperature Performance
ASTM A213 T22 alloy steel is specifically engineered for high-temperature and high-pressure environments, providing excellent creep resistance and oxidation resistance.
  • Durability
The carbon steel fins are securely welded to the base tube, ensuring durability and resistance to mechanical wear and tear, especially in furnace and boiler environments.
  • Corrosion Resistance
The combination of alloy steel tube and carbon steel fins resists corrosion, making this fin tube ideal for applications in high-temperature flue gas streams.
  • Cost-Effective
Compared to other fin materials like stainless steel, carbon steel offers a more cost-effective solution while still maintaining good thermal conductivity and mechanical strength.
Applications
  • Convection Sections of Furnaces
In fired heaters and industrial furnaces, where heat needs to be transferred from flue gases to process fluids.
  • Power Plant Boilers
Used in economizers and superheaters for heat recovery from flue gases.
  • Petrochemical and Chemical Plants
Suitable for applications where efficient heat exchange is needed for steam generation or process heating.
  • Heat Recovery Systems
Ideal for waste heat recovery units where thermal energy from exhaust gases is recovered and reused.

It's hot and humid here, and our old wrap-on tubes used to rust like crazy. Switched to your extruded ones—the aluminum fin covers the steel pipe perfectly, so corrosion shouldn't be an issue.

Good oxidation resistance, matches well with the T9. No scaling or thinning noticed.

As an engineer in Siberia, I tested these fin tubes in extreme cold (-30°C). The ASTM A213 T11 steel performed well with no thermal cracks, and cooling efficiency met expectations (88%). That said, the Russian-language documentation had translation errors in technical terms, causing minor confusion during installation.
