Introduction

This finned tube is made from ASTM A376 TP347H, a high-temperature austenitic stainless steel pipe, combined with carbon steel solid fins welded onto the outer surface using high-frequency welding (HFW). It is widely used in high-temperature heat exchangers, furnaces, and power plant economizers, where enhanced heat transfer and structural durability are critical.

The 13Cr pins add some cost, but for sour service in furnaces, it's worth it. Already seeing longer run times between turnarounds compared to before.

the SS409 pins resist sulfur corrosion better than carbon steel pins we used earlier. In furnace service, that means longer runs between maintenance.
