製品の説明

ASME SA192 Serrated Finned Tube With Carbon Steel Fins For HRSGs and Economizers

The ASME SA192 serrated finned tube is a high-performance, engineered component that leverages the high-pressure strength of boiler-grade carbon steel with the exceptional gas-side heat transfer efficiency of serrated fins. It is a critical element in modern, efficient power generation and industrial heating processes where recovering waste heat is a priority.

Here are some detailed breakdowns:

1. ASTM A192 Base Tube:

(1) Chemical Composition

The chemical composition for ASTM A192 is characterized by its low carbon and low manganese content, which provides good ductility and weldability. The limits are strictly controlled to ensure the material's suitability for high-pressure service.

Element Composition (%)
Carbon (C) 0.06 – 0.18
Manganese (Mn) 0.27 – 0.63
Phosphorus (P) 0.035 max
Sulfur (S) 0.035 max
Silicon (Si) ≥ 0.25 (Note 1)
Copper (Cu) 0.20 min (when specified)
Note 1: The silicon content is not a mandatory requirement unless specified for deoxidation practice. The standard requires that the steel be made by a process that uses a killing agent (such as silicon or aluminum), making it killed steel.

(2). Mechanical Properties

The mechanical properties are defined by minimum requirements for tensile strength and yield strength, as well as a hardness limit. A bend test is also required to prove ductility.

Property Requirement
Tensile Strength 325 MPa (47,000 psi) min
Yield Strength 180 MPa (26,000 psi) min
Elongation ≥ 35% (in 50 mm or 2 in.)
Note: The minimum elongation requirement varies with the specimen size and is calculated using specific formulas provided in the ASTM A450 general specification.
Hardness 137 HBW max (Brinell Hardness) or
72 HRB max (Rockwell B Hardness)
Bend Test The bend test specimen must bend through 180° without cracking around a mandrel with a diameter no greater than 6 times the nominal wall thickness.

2. Serrated Fins

Type: These are external fins that are helically wound (or wrapped) onto the outside surface of the base tube and then securely bonded, usually through high-frequency welding (HFW) to ensure excellent thermal contact.

Design: The key feature is the series of regular, precise cuts or notches made along the top edge of the fin. This "serrated" design is crucial.

Purpose of Serrations:

  • Dramatically Increased Surface Area
  • Flow Turbulence
  • Reduced Weight

3. The reason combine A192 base tubes with carbon steel fins:

  • The SA192 tube provides the necessary pressure containment and strength to handle the water, steam, or other high-pressure fluid inside.
  • The serrated fins maximize the heat extraction from the hot, low-pressure gas flowing on the outside. This is known as "gas-side heat transfer," which is typically the limiting factor in heat exchanger efficiency because gases transfer heat much less effectively than liquids.

Primary Application:

Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs)

This is the most significant and common application for these tubes. HRSGs are the cornerstone of modern combined-cycle power plants, which are among the most efficient power generation systems in the world.

Role: In an HRSG, the serrated finned tube is used in the economizer and evaporator sections.

They efficiently capture "waste heat" from the turbine exhaust that would otherwise be lost to the atmosphere, using it to preheat water (economizer) and boil it into steam (evaporator). This steam then drives a steam turbine to generate additional electricity, significantly boosting the plant's total output.

Other Key Applications:

1. Boiler Economizers (Coal, Biomass, Waste-to-Energy)

Role: Located at the boiler's exit, economizers preheat the feedwater before it enters the boiler drum using the remaining heat from the flue gas.

2. Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRUs)

Role: These units are used in various industrial processes (e.g., chemical plants, refineries, metal processing, cement kilns) to capture heat from industrial furnace or process exhaust streams.

3. Other Gas-to-Liquid Heat Exchangers

In any system where heat must be transferred from a gas stream to a pressurized liquid (water, thermal oil, etc.) and space is a constraint, serrated finned tubes are an excellent choice due to their compactness and high performance.
