Description
Manufacturing Process
A smooth core tube is inserted into an aluminium sleeve, after which the fins are integrally formed by extruding the aluminium outward from the sleeve.
Fin Types
Fins can be supplied either as solid plain or serrated, segmented into 12, 16, or 24 sections, or customized according to specific design requirements.
Unfinned Section
Both ends of the tube are left plain, typically 10 mm to 50 mm, with optional unfinned gaps in the middle section.
Surface Coating
The bare ends of the bimetallic finned tubes are coated with zinc or aluminium, applied using an electro-spray arc metallizing process for enhanced protection.
Advantages Comparied with Other Types of Fin Tube
1. Stronger Bonding & Durability
Extruded fins are metallurgically bonded to the base tube, ensuring a solid mechanical connection.
Unlike mechanical fin types (L, LL, KL, G), fins do not loosen, even under thermal cycling or vibration.
2. Superior Heat Transfer Efficiency
The integral bond between fin and tube minimizes contact resistance.
Provides stable and consistent heat transfer performance throughout service life.
3. Extended Service Life in Harsh Conditions
With an ASTM A179 carbon steel core and extruded aluminium fins, the tube resists oxidation and corrosion more effectively than conventional fin types.
Ideal for continuous operation in air coolers and heat exchangers.
4. Easier Maintenance & Cleaning
Extruded fins are thicker and stronger, allowing for mechanical cleaning methods without damage.
This reduces downtime and extends the cleaning interval.
5. Cost-Effective Solution
Offers an excellent balance between performance and cost.
Compared to single-alloy tubes, extruded bimetallic fin tubes minimize the use of expensive materials while maintaining high efficiency.
