ASTM B111 UNS C44300 / CuZn28Sn1 O61 Temper Admiralty Brass Seamless Tube
ASTM B111 C44300 is the standard specification for seamless Admiralty Brass tubes used in heat exchangers and condensers. Also known by the EN designation CuZn28Sn1, this alloy consists of approximately 70% copper, 28% zinc, and 1% tin, with a small addition of arsenic. The tin and arsenic act as inhibitors, providing excellent resistance to dezincification (selective zinc corrosion) in fresh and brackish water environments. These tubes offer a strong balance of good thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and ductility for easy fabrication. They are widely specified for surface condensers in power plants, marine heat exchangers, and freshwater generators, providing a cost-effective solution where resistance to general corrosion and erosion is required.
