Application of ASTM A333 Grade 1 Low Fin Tubes in Refrigeration and HVAC Systems

ASTM A333 Grade 1 Low Temperature Low Fin Tubes are high-performance heat transfer components specifically engineered for low-temperature operating conditions and compact heat exchange requirements. These low fin tubes (typically around 1.5mm in height) are formed through an extrusion process on the tube wall. This design significantly expands the heat transfer surface area without increasing the tube's outer diameter.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC)
  • Chiller Evaporators & Condensers: Low fin tubes serve as the core of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. Their compact structure allows for a significantly larger heat transfer area within limited space, substantially improving the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER).

  • Absorption Refrigerators: Ideal for the evaporation and absorption processes of various refrigerants.

Technical Specification Reference
Parameter Description
Material Grade ASTM A333 Grade 1 (Low Temperature Carbon Steel)
Working Temperature Minimum service temperature down to -45°C
Fin Height 0.8mm - 1.6mm
Fin Density (WPI) 19, 26, or 32 Fins Per Inch
Manufacturing Process Cold Rolling / Extrusion
Applicable Fluids Hydrocarbons, Refrigerants, Liquefied Gases, Oils
