The Standard Tests for ASTM A192 Tubes

 

Test Type Standard Requirement
Flattening Test The specimen shall be flattened without cracking until the distance between the plates is three-fourths of the outside diameter of the tube.
Flaring Test The specimen shall be flared without cracking until the outside diameter has increased by 20%.
Hardness Test The Brinell or Rockwell hardness test shall be made on two tubes from each lot.
Hydrostatic Test Each tube shall be subjected to the hydrostatic test (or NDT as specified).
